Fabric, Fit and Sizes
The quality 280gsm heavyweight fabric is 80% ringspun cotton and 20% polyester (blend varies slightly on some marl colours), with a smooth 100% cotton face and a soft brushed fleece inside. It features a double-fabric hood with matching drawcords, a kangaroo pouch pocket, ribbed cuffs and hem, and twin-needle stitching for durability.
Relaxed fit, over 100 colours, sizes XS–5XL (5XL fits up to a 60″ chest). Decorated garments should be washed at 40°C.

History
Raised on 16 March 1689 by Lord Henry Herbert to oppose James II, this elite line infantry regiment is one of the oldest in the British military. It first saw action at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690 and went on to earn legendary status across three centuries of conflict, fighting in the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimea, and the Boer War. Armed early on with the flintlock “fusil” musket, the regiment famously retained the old-fashioned spelling of “Welch” as a proud symbol of its antiquity.
During the First World War, it famously became known as the “literary regiment” because prominent war poets like Siegfried Sassoon and Robert Graves served in its ranks. On 1 March 2006, the separate identity of the regiment came to an end when it was amalgamated with the Royal Regiment of Wales. Its unbroken lineage is carried forward today by the 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh (The Royal Welch Fusiliers), operating as an advanced armoured infantry force.

We mark up garments with tailors chalk to ensure the decoration is positioned correctly, any chalk marks remaining will wash off. We recommend washing before wearing.
